The Los Angeles and Ventura Chapters of CDS Present:
A talk by Dr. Robert Bray on “Achieving Peak Performance” a.k.a., “How To Train Effectively for Competition”
As a neurosurgeon, neurologist, and scientist, Dr. Robert S. Bray, Jr. MD, FACS, maintains a special research interest in the "high-performing brain." Dr. Bray has worked with elite athletes and athletic organizations, including the Los Angeles Kings, Las Vegas Raiders, team Red Bull, the champion America’s Cup team (team Oracle), Sail GB, and the US Olympic Committee, often developing programs to aid mental and physical performance and preparation in athletes.
Over a 29-year career in active and reserve duty with the United States Airforce, Dr. Bray developed extensive programs for combat medicine and trauma training. Dr. Bray is the founding director of DISC Surgery Centers, the largest sports medicine practice in the USA. Dr. Bray (pictured) is an amateur horseman and his wife, Tracey, is an active Dressage competitor and owns Emerald Equestrian Center.

This event is free (but if you want to give a donation to the Ventura or LA Chapter of CDS you can). No need to be a member of CDS or even a dressage rider to attend. Libations and food provided (but if you want to bring something to share, you can!) It is going to be GREAT!

CDS Junior/Young Rider Clinic South with Willy Arts

Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity for juniors and young riders. The LA Chapter would love to see one of our youth riders included in the clinic!
Born in Holland, Willy Arts grew up with a family in horses and learned all the aspects of animals at home. After graduating high school he went to a Dutch Equestrian School (Deurne) and learned management to breeding and riding. During this time Willy became very involved in preparing Stallions for the stallion approvals.
In 1984 Arts made the transition to California and began working with the DeGroot family, riding Wanroij and Volckmar who were the Flagship stallions at DG Bar. While preparing several stallions in the United States for approval, Willy has also been successful in competing at the FEI Level, as well as qualifying horses for the FEI Young Horse Championships and the World Championships for Young Dressage in Verden Germany. Willy has also been very involved with many aspects of the sport, such as Junior and Young Rider programs, FEI Young Horse programs and USDF Breed shows. Willy is a Board member for the KWPN NA.
