CDS/USDF Regional Championships

Some of our amazing L.A. Chapter combinations returned from the CDS/USDF Regional Championships with new impressive titles! From Juniors to Amateurs to Olympians, the Los Angeles dressage community was well-represented.

The Great American Insurance Group/United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Championship and the 50th Anniversary California Dressage Society (CDS) Championship Show were held September 21-24, 2017 in Rancho Murieta, California.

Dantia Benson

Dantia's Joule is the USDFBC 3 Year-Old Materiale Champion with a 83.800%.

"Joule is registered KWPN-NA by Ampere out of Rajani by Radikal. I bred and raised him. Joule won the KWPN 3yr old DG Bar Cup, the USDFBC Materiale 3yr old Horse of the Year and is 2nd place in the YHS point standings for 3yr olds in hand and under saddle. He also currently is 1st in the USDF 3yr colts and geldings Materiale Horse of the year but final scoring is not complete. I hope he loves his job and we have a good time training."

"Rancho Murieta was the farthest we've ever gone for a show and it was definitely a long week for us. We rode 5 tests in 4 days. In fact, I tacked him up 4 times on Friday for 2 tests and 2 victory gallops. But he came out happy and ready to go every time. Diesel is proving to be very consistent and reliable. And he just loves the shows, it seems the bigger the better! He is definitely a horse of a lifetime. The venue was fantastic and we are planning to go back in two years. A huge thank you to Amelia Newcomb. As an amateur with one horse, I could not do this without the help of my trainer. A huge thank you also to all of the volunteers, management and staff that made this CDS Championship show so enjoyable. We are all very lucky to ride in a state with such a wonderful and supportive organization for dressage."
